Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site

Visit the 1840’s farm of Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln, parents of Abraham Lincoln. Then, visit the nearby Stephen Sargent farm, a second 1840’s farmstead that has been moved to the site to contrast the Sargent’s “progressive” farming with the Lincoln’s “traditional” farming lifestyle. See daily domestic and farming activities come alive on this “living historical farm.”

Located just one mile north of Lincoln Log Cabin, this home is the 1860’s home of Abraham Lincoln’s stepsister, Matilda Hall Moore. It is here that Lincoln bid farewell to this stepmother on January 21, 1861 before leaving Illinois to become the 16th president.
